What is the age to start using Podee bottles?

The main reason for using the Podee Baby Bottle is to help reduce colic, reflux and ear infections.The happens when the baby uses the bottle in an upright or semi-upright position. So, it is best to use this bottle when your baby can be held in an upright or semi-upright position.

 

How do we make sure that the milk flows easily?

Make sure that the bottom of the teat is sealed tightly between the adapter and the screw collar to prevent air from getting into the bottle. If air enters the bottle problems with flow occur. Also, make sure that the short tube is connected to the bottom of the disc that goes on top of the bottle, or the system will not work. The teat can be primed with milk by squeezing the wide part of the teat to bring milk up to fill the teat.

 

Will I bond with my baby?

The Podee system is designed to help with and not to take over the feeding of your baby.By using the Podee system your hands are left free to hold and touch your baby. Using Podee actually enhances bonding as youcan hold your baby on your knee facing you. Eye to eye contact allows your baby to become familiar with your face much more quickly; when feeding twins or other multiples you can feed them all at the same time.

I have one baby, can I use Podee for her?

How is Podee cleaned?

All parts are washed as normal the tubes being cleaned with the brush provided. All parts can be sterilised using your method of choice but the tubes MUST be cold sterilised (Milton or similar) as they will melt with heat.

 

The bottle leaks if I lay it on its side, What can we do?

The air vent on the disc fitted to the top of the bottle is designed to allow just enough air into the system to prevent a vacuum forming inside the bottle when the baby drinks. The system will not work properly without this vent. When the bottle is laid on its side, the liquid will slowly make its way through this vent and thus cause a leakage. Keep the bottle in an upright position to prevent the bottle from leaking. You can also use the ‘gimme-a-hug’ bottle holder to help keep the bottle in a verticle position.

 

Are teats of different brands compatible with the Podee?

We strongly recommend using teats made by Podee. Other brands of teat are designed to work with ordinary baby feeding bottles while the teats made by Podee are designed to work with Podee Baby Bottle. Using teat brands other than Podee could cause Podee not to work properly.
